Vic: Woman shot with air rifle
An air rifle pellet has narrowly missed arteries in a woman's thigh when she was shot
while walking through a park in Melbourne's outer east.
Police say the 43-year-old was walking through a Ferntree Gully park about 4pm (AEST)
yesterday when she felt a sting in her leg and saw two boys running away.
The pain in her leg worsened as she walked and she found the pellet wound when she
examined her leg at home.
The woman drove herself to the nearby Angliss Hospital, where doctors found the pellet
had penetrated 15 centimetres into her thigh and had narrowly missed arteries.
Anyone with information about the incident should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
