Qld; One dead, one injured in head on collision near Goondiwindi
BRISBANE, Dec 18 AAP - One man died and another was injured after a head-on collision
on the Leichhardt Highway near the Queensland-New South Wales border overnight.
Police said a car and a semi-trailer collided 28km northwest of the town of Goondiwindi
about 2.20am (AEST).
The crash pushed the semi into the path of another oncoming truck which burst into
flames when the two vehicles collided.
The driver of the second truck was taken to Goondiwindi hospital but was not believed
to be seriously injured.
Police said the car driver died at the scene.
His name has not been released.
