VIC: "Stand up" on indigenous preamble, Beattie tells Howard

Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE has joined Opposition Leader KIM BEAZLEY in urging the
Prime Minister to say where he stands on the a constitutional preamble recognising indigenous
people.

Mr BEATTIE says the issue is important for Australia, and all leaders should campaign for
it-- including Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD.
