Vic: Man made police kill threat on internet, court told
A Victorian court's been told that a man charged with vandalism during the May 1 protest
posted an internet message to Victoria Police chief commissioner CHRISTINE NIXON, which
included a threat to kill a police officer.
MATTHEW STEPHEN TAYLOR appeared at Kyneton Magistrates Court on a bail application
after he was charged with two counts of criminal damage during the May 1 demonstrations
against globalisation.
Police told the court TAYLOR had posted a message on an internet site where he said
a police officer could be selected for "execution".
Magistrate WILLIAM GIBB granted TAYLOR bail on several conditions, including that he
not post threatening text on the internet.
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on August 16.
