FED: Australian accused of terrorism links stays in Afghanistan

A Sydney man accused of having trained with OSAMA BIN LADEN'S terrorist network remainsin Afghanistan without access to Australian authorities.

46-year-old MAMDOUH HABIB has been cut off from his family since he was arrested inPakistan last October accused of training with the al-Qaeda network.

The HABIB family from Birrong in Sydney's southwest, fears the United States will transferMr HABIB to its Camp X-Ray military jail in Cuba.

A spokeswoman for Attorney-General DARYL WILLIAMS says Mr HABIB is still being heldin Afghanistan, despite reports he was to be moved to Camp X-Ray last weekend.

HABIB family lawyer, STEPHEN HOPPER, says his client was detained in Pakistan beforethe war even started in Afghanistan and he has still not been charged with anything.
