SCHENECTADY-STYLE DRUG RAID UNLIKELY IN ALBANY, COP SAYS.(CAPITAL REGION)

Last week's massive drug offensive by State Police and Schenectady Police in the Electric City is not likely to be duplicated any time soon in Albany's cocaine-plagued neighborhoods.

Albany Police Lt. Mike DeMarco, the new supervisor of his department's drug-fighting special investigations unit, said he sees no immediate need for State Police involvement in Albany.

"We don't have a need for it right now," DeMarco said. "Schenectady really had a need for that. We have our problems. But at this point, I think we have things more in hand."
