HDE Announces Karesansui: Open Source Virtualization Management Software for Linux.

HDE, a leader of Linux server management software in Japan, announced Karesansui, free, open source virtualization management software with web-based user interface, which supports Linux servers and Xen. To download Karesansui, visit http://karesansui-project.info/get/.

Karesansui is designed to make virtualization simple through its graphical and sophisticated web-based control panel. "While the concept of virtualization got popular, its management was way too hard for non-technical people," said Lead Developer, Kei Funagayama. "Our goal is to 'liberalize' virtualization to non-technical people."

Karesansui enables users to perform virtual machine creation, start up, suspension, snapshot, CPU/RAM allocation, all from a standard web browser. While it supports Xen hypervisor by now, we plan to support various hypervisor including KVM hereafter.

Also, in order for the developers to built-in Karesansui to their own system, or enhance Karesansui, Karesansui has adopted RESTful architecture with HTTP-based APIs.
